Our wines mirror the pristine nature of the countryside in which the grapes are grown. The result is balanced and complex wines reflecting both the care given to the vineyards and the mineral content of the soil, due to its marine origins..Sangervasio produces wines with a contemporary style, made with the contribution of international varieties, but mostly with local grapes, which are the estate’s main focus: Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon; Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Vermentino and Trebbiano.

The wine-making process is natural, with no chemical additives. Our wines are an expression of the soil in which our grapes are grown. There are no tricks or shortcuts…and that is how a truly fine wine is made! Sangervasio’s cellars are situated in the historical buildings, in perfect harmony with the farm and its surroundings. The technology respects architecture and tradition.

Tasting Notes

Spicy notes of French oak rise above distinct aromas of cherry and berry. The palate has a backbone of Sangiovese, a roundness of Merlot and enhanced body from the oak. The fruit purity and varietal signatures are testament to the meticulous care given to the young vines. Note: Some sediment may occur in the bottom of the bottle as the wine is not filtered

93+ points, Monica Larner (Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate):
"PierLuigi Tolaini and his team blend Sangiovese and Merlot to make the 2009 Al Passo. This is a ripe and delicate red that very successfully strives for that difficult equilibrium between power and elegance. Small berry fruit, moist earth and dried violets open the bouquet. The wine is defined by structure with a beautifully feminine and ethereal quality at the back. The two varieties compliment each other beautiful: The 85% Sangiovese gives the wine finesse and the 15% Merlot adds color and a touch of pulpy cherry. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2024. "
